However, this doesn’t mean that other places can’t be too. Locals and tourists from all over the country are drawn to these charming enclaves, which have beautiful things like lakes, mountains, historic main streets, forests, architectural beauty, beaches, and other things.
Rocheport, Missouri
This tiny town along the Katy Trail, whose name means “rocky port” in French, was once a trading post for Native Americans. It is two hours from both Kansas City and St. Louis. Decorah is in Iowa
This town has a strong Norwegian culture and is home to the Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum, the country’s largest museum about an immigrant group. It also has many beautiful natural spots, such as Dunning’s Springs Park. Thanks to Luther College, it is also a college town.
Ohio’s Yellow Springs
Even during the coldest months of the year, this town, which is home to Antioch College, is breathtaking because of the natural beauty that surrounds it. This beauty includes the 78-mile-long Little Miami Scenic Trail, which is connected to the 752-acre John Bryan State Park. Additionally, many of the locals are creative types.
Delaware’s Rehoboth Beach
While this town along the Atlantic Ocean swells with tourists during the summer, one of America’s most celebrated craft brewers, Dogfish Head, calls Rehoboth Beach home and recently opened an adorable inn in nearby Lewes.
