Keep hydrated

Airplanes’ recirculated air is extremely dry, and staying around for hours can swiftly dehydrate the body. The majority of Americans already do not consume enough water, and flying exacerbates the problem. Likewise, this leads to jet lag.

Before boarding a flight, you should rehydrate by consuming one litre of water with rehydration salts. Simply don’t use your water filter, otherwise it will become clogged!

Get A Convenient Travel Pillow

I know I’m not alone in having difficulty sleeping on aeroplanes. In addition to taking earplugs, as I mentioned before, I also recommend purchasing a neck pillow like this one to make it easier to fall asleep on long foreign flights.

Visit The Local Tourist Information Office

Most large towns and cities have a local tourism office, which is a wonderful place to visit if you’re looking for ideas for local activities. Tell them what you need, and they will gladly assist you.

Whether you’re looking for nearby free activities, family-friendly venues, or information on local festivals and events, the tourist office will steer you in the right direction.

Long-Distance Travel: Podcasts

Podcasts are incredible. It’s like having your own own radio station with only the programming and songs you want to hear. I never imagined that I would enjoy a ten – hour bus ride. Yet, this is achievable with podcasts (so long as the seating are comfortable)!

The hours will fly by as you listened to awe-inspiring tales, entertaining music, or enlightening talks with industry professionals.

Maintain Contact With Loved Ones

Keep in touch with your family and friends occasionally. Perhaps you could surprise them by sending a postcards (it’s in the mail, Mum!). Travel is not at all solitary. You frequently encounter new folks.

Yet, travelling alone implies that many of these new interactions are temporary. Always someone is arriving or departing. Maintaining a strong connection to those back home who know you best is crucial for your mental health.
